John Piper and Articulation

"God in eternity, looked upon me foreseeing my faults, my pride, my sin and said I want that man in MY family. I will pay for him to be in my family with my Sons life. That's love folks. That is mega, off the charts love."
-John Piper

If you haven't heard "Actions Speak Louder" By Swoope ft. Tedashii, Lecrae, and Jai, It would probably do you some good to go check it out.

At the end of the song there is a sound clip from a John Piper sermon (he preaches the quote I wrote at the top of this post), it's extremely powerful. Lecrae uses the term "articulate" in the verse he wrote for this song, and I think that's interesting. The reason being is because I think that John Piper has a way of articulating everything he says in a powerful manner. Articulation is a term widely used in music for the way a note may sound, or rather, the stress that's applied to a note(from my understanding). When musicians get to a point of successfully understanding their instrument, I think that articulation becomes entangled in the feeling that the artist is trying to convey. So my thought behind all of this is that John Piper's voice is his instrument, when he preaches he means what he says and his heart comes flying along with his words. I think that sort of creates this intense understanding on my part of the message John Piper's giving.

Just the way John Piper is looking at grace is incredibly sound, and moving. I am encouraged by this song, John Piper, and most of all by Jesus. Those are my thoughts for tonight,

Goodnight
